EU-Challenge Puts €200.000 at Stake for Developing Market-Ready Robot Solutions

ESMERA calls for robotic solutions to challenges in manufacturing, retail, construction, and more.

EU-funded robotics project ESMERA has opened its second call for robotic solutions to solve specific challenges in manufacturing, construction, retail, and more.

In a second call for projects on their website, ESMERA (European SMEs Robotic Application) invites European SMEs to apply with projects to solve challenges specifically de-fined by industrial end users. Selected winners will gain industrial leadership and business support to advance their project – and receive up to €200.000 in funding.

8 areas in need of robotic solutions

The pre-defined challenges fall in eight categories, representing the areas of manufacturing, energy, construction, agriculture, food processing, retail, healthcare, and emergency response.

Examples of challenges include the application of balloon protectors to fridges or the picking and transferring of dried cod. The goal is to find SMEs to develop robotic systems that can automate and better processes like these.

From ideas to market-ready solutions

The solution-providing businesses will receive direct financial support, up to €200.000 in total. ESMERA partners will provide winners with an environment for developing, evaluating and testing, as well as non-technical support and mentoring.

The goal is to advance projects and turn ideas into market-ready solutions. Projects from the first open call in August 2018 are currently in the development phase, striving to-wards industrialisation of their products.

Deadline for proposals is December 2nd, 2019.
