Challenges associated with today's process include: -High variability in grain types, density, quality, etc. -Grain "packs" differently based on the bulk density and bin dimensions (no data for large bins) -Variable pile geometries -Variable angles of repose (filling & emptying) -Limited visibility -Environmental (dusty, potential methane/CO2, difficult to access) -Shadows/obstructions/hazardous dust Other automation goals (aside from the selections above) include: -Improved accuracy of volumetric inventory -Increased frequency of inventory measurements -Visualization of real-time grain mass, shape and depth

I will be pretty swamped until later this Fall/Winter, but am open to answer questions about the project up until then. I will be in a better position to move forward with a solution in a few months.
