The automated clip press was designed and built to install plastic clips onto interior automotive panels. The panels were loaded by an operator onto custom tooling. The tooling is interchangeable so that different panel versions can be run in the same machine. A vibratory bowl feeder with blow feed and a six axis robot was used to install the clips. A PLC and HMI was used for machine control. Perimeter guarding and light curtains were used for operator safety.
