Thorvald is a fully autonomous, modular robot built specifically for high-value crops like strawberries and grapevines. It applies high-intensity UV-C light to control powdery mildew — a chemical-free, autonomous solution that works at night. This allows growers to reduce pesticide use by up to 90% while maintaining or even improving yield.  

Thorvald is currently delivering commercial UV-C treatments to 13 top-tier strawberry growers across key UK regions. The platform is in 2025 treating around 20% of the UK’s tabletop strawberry production, making it the leading autonomous platform for disease control and a solution that’s setting a new industry standard for sustainable crop protection in the UK.

Thorvald also operates in the US, treating almost 1500 acres of grapevine in 2025.
