Insert assembly is a labour-intensive, highly repetitive manual operation with no formal standard operating procedures, and is the primary production bottleneck — dependent on experienced operators and on temporary agency staff during peak demand. The goal is to fully automate it so it no longer requires a dedicated operator, removing the agency dependency and freeing the coiling- line operator to oversee all five coiling machines. A successful solution should: - Increase throughput to no less than twice the current output of current tape feed / strip feed production, per full time operator per day. - Handle the full portfolio — all size variants, all coatings, in 1D, 1.5D and 2D lengths. - Keep the insertion feature correctly oriented at the top of the tape throughout each reel. - Deliver a payback period of five years or less.
