Challenge: A motor drive manufacturer needed a more efficient pump motor and a new line to manufacture and assemble the product that would integrate the ERP system into the new line to improve metrics and control of the process.

Solution: We developed a semi-automatic collaborative workstation as part of a fully automated line. By modifying our standard Tech Trak product, we created two new modules: a pallet lift for improved ergonomics and a side shuttle to remove pallets from the line for testing.

Results: We engineered a solution that made the process and product more robust and reliable. The result made it easier and more cost-effective to produce the product, reduced safety hazards, and integrated with ERP for more flexibility and control.

Automate the Impossible in Record Time

Client name: Automotive Industry Client

Challenge: A new automotive industry client needed a fast turnaround to create a fully automated production line to assemble the front and rear fascias for a new vehicle that would launch that year.

Solution: Traditional methods used on metal components wouldn’t work on the main component, a painted front fascia for the vehicle. So we developed a way to utilize regional datum structures, which allowed us to move the part where it needed to be before the assembly process began. This was designed to be fully automated with robotics.

Results: We brought new ideas to the table, transforming automated fascia assembly with innovative new processes. This created unique capabilities, flexibility, and cost savings, resulting in a huge reduction in losses from part damage.

Improving Process and Reducing Risk

Client name: Commercial Water Heater Manufacturer

Process type: Other

Challenge: A commercial water heater manufacturer needed to improve the loading/unloading process of large metal tanks from a conveyor. Because of the size of the metal tanks, many employees were injured during the loading/offloading processes.

Solution: We implemented a heavy lifting robot, which removed the risk of employee injury from loading/unloading the tanks. The robot had sensors to read the diameter and length of each tank so that it could adjust the pick position and lift tanks without requiring a changeover. Additionally, the robot was equipped with a motion tracker, which assisted in loading tanks correctly onto the hangers.

Results: This resulted in massive ROI by reducing risk and improving operations. It reduced operational risks and increased employee satisfaction.
